![]() ![]() ![]() The Avengers as an organization seemed to have disbanded at the end of Endgame, and while a new iteration of the team will most likely form throughout Phase 4, the general populace isn’t quite sure whether or not The Avengers exist anymore, a point highlighted in lighthearted dialogue in Spider-Man: Far From Home. With this in mind, a watch belonging to a deceased Avenger, most likely Tony Stark (referencing Robert Downy Jr’s watch collection), would be a significant status symbol for a criminal leader such as Fisk.Īssuming that the watch belonged to Stark, it might also do far more than tell time. Tony Stark famously prepared for all scenarios, carrying Iron Man technology within disguised briefcases and hidden compartments of his vehicles and residences. In Captain America: Civil War, Stark hid an armored Iron Man hand repulsor within a wristwatch, using its weaponry to stun a brainwashed Bucky Barnes and blocking a bullet with its durable armor. Fisk may want a hidden Iron Man gauntlet as a covert self-defense weapon (referencing his suit and cane’s hidden weaponry in the comics). He might also seek to reverse engineer Stark tech for his forces.Ī simpler explanation is simply that the watch is valuable and highly sought after, and Fisk wasn’t interested in acquiring the watch via a purchase, so he sent his men to a black-market auction to steal it. ![]()
